Fake fur is great because why not wear it? No animals are cruelly contained, removed from their natural habitat, killed, injured, neglected, die from pneumonia, and more. Nonhuman animals are superior to humans in so many ways, such as having more beautiful exteriors -- hair, skin, etc. Who would want to wear a coat that looks like an ugly human (fake or real)? There are too many people out in the world paying high prices for animals to be slaughtered simply to enhance their vanity. If could have a similar replacement -- fake fur -- let them have it! Anything to keep them from exploiting the animals. It's so disgusting that Gwyneth Paltrow, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Wintour and Sofia Coppola continue to wear real fur. It's so shameful. As for cashmere, almost all goats suffer and die from harvesting their coats. The only way to have a humane cashmere coat would be to live at the altitude/environment where the goats reside, feed them year round (without corralling them) and try to brush them without traumatizing them. Since they would be dependent on the feeding, you would need to have someone feed all year and every year because they would not be able to forage entirely for themselves.
