Arm Our Police with Knowledge

A new training video produced by the ASPCA concerning animal cruelty is now on the market. The video is set in St. Louis and contains vivid scenes of animal abuse, neglect and cruelty. A collaboration of clips was sent in by agencies from Boston, Chicago and Arizona. The hope is that police agencies around the country will purchase these tapes and show them to their officers. The movie's intent is to show the true brutal nature of animal cruelty and to stress that it must be treated seriously. The movie explains how the officer is to collect evidence and file a report, and even how to approach a court hearing. The tape may be a tremendous wake-up call for police officers. Encourage your local law enforcement agencies to acquire this video. If funding is an issue, humanitarians may call (800) 462-5232 to purchase one for their local police or sheriff station.
