"Man can no longer live for himself alone. We must realize that all life is valuable, and that we are united to all life."- Dr. Albert Schweitzer
South Bay Wildlife Rehab in Los Angeles, CA, is a nonprofit organization that rehabilitates sick, injured and orphaned California native birds and land mammals for return to the wild. For the past 20 years, volunteers have successfully rehabilitated and re-released animals into selected suitable native habitats. Some unpaid volunteers take the animals into their own homes to give care directly. Others give donations, which are used to pay for food, equipment, supplies, medical attention, bird aviation and mammal runs, as well as training for other volunteers. Although the rehab is unable to care for most reptiles, marine mammals, pets or domestic animals, they are happy to give referrals to appropriate places that can offer help. In addition to their other services, the South Bay Wildlife Rehab provides educational programs for schools, community groups, and other gatherings to raise awareness for their cause.
The South Bay Wildlife Rehab encourages people to call (310) 378-9921 if they are interested in becoming a volunteer or making any donations of time or money.  They could use help answering the phones, caring for the animals, providing transportation, and organizing fund-raising activities.
